Glacier skiing: A holiday at the Stubai Glacier in Tyrol
Winter holidays & glacier skiing in Austria's largest glacier area
So much fun so close. The glacier paradise is only 20 km away from the 4-star Alpin Resort Stubaier Hof in Fulpmes. The free shuttle bus makes it especially easy for our guests to reach the glacier.
The Stubai Glacier is Austria's largest glacier skiing area. Five glaciers, the Windachferner, Fernauferner, Gaiskarferner, Eisjochferner and Daunferner are combined to form the 700 ha ski area.
Eight months of guaranteed snow at the Stubai Glacier
At the Stubai Glacier, the so-called kingdom of snow, fun in the snow is guaranteed from October to June at an altitude between 1,750 m and 3,200 m.
110 kilometers of slopes offer easy, intermediate and challenging slopes. On the "Wilde Grub'n" run for example, you can race down 10km. Or you can leave tranquil traces on the wide slopes of the Daunferner. With a total of 26 lifts you can reach your desired destination easily.
Snowboarders and skicrossers will be thrilled by the glacier. At the racing route at the Eisjoch it can get speedy. Visitors can expect 1 kilometer of waves, jumps and steep curves. The Powder Department Stubai Glacier is just as full of action. And the Snowpark Stubai Zoo, one of the top parks in Europe, is a paradise for freestyle snowboarders and skiers.
Distinguished as a top family skiing area
The skiing area on the glacier is also particularly family-friendly. Once again, the ADAC has named the Stubai Glacier ski area the #1 family ski area.
Children under the age of 10 can ski here for free when accompanied by a parent, and the BIG Family Ski Camp on the Stubai Glacier offers very special snow fun for the very little ones.
Austria's mountain restaurant on the Stubai Glacier
You can get refreshments in Austria's highest mountain restaurant on the Stubai Glacier at 3,120 m above sea level at the Top of Tyrol panorama platform.
Cross-country skiing on the Stubai Glacier
Cross-country skiers can also experience nature at the Stubai Glacier. Skate at 2,600 m on the 2 km-long cross-country ski run at the Gamsgarten and enjoy the view of the snow-covered alpine kingdom.
