Adventures on the Stubai Glacier

Austria's largest glacier skiing area

Millions of years ago something unique formed in this region: the Stubai glacier - the largest glacier skiing area in Austria. 5 glaciers - Windachferner, Fernauferner, Gaiskarferner, Eisjochferner and Daunferner - combine to create a 700 hectare skiing region.

From the Stubaier Hof, this Mecca for winter sports fans is just 20 km away and easy to reach thanks to the free ski bus.

A skiing kingdom on the Stubai Glacier

A winter wonderland as far as the eye can see - it's not surprising that the Stubai Glacier is known as the kingdom of snow. At an altitude between 1,750 and 3,200 m, skiing pleasure is possible much longer than in other regions. You can get the first taste of the new skiing season as early as October, or take a skiing holiday in June, long after other resorts have closed for the summer.
