The beautiful Stubaital

Mountain experiences in the Stubaital in Tyrol

If our mountains could speak, they would probably sing at the tops of their voices! Because the Stubaital valley is where many beautiful picture-perfect mountains meet. 109 mountains higher than 3,000 m offer great views of the impressive region. 80 glaciers fascinate thanks to the natural energy which formed them - including the Stubai Glacier.

The Zuckerhütl (3,507 m), the Habicht (3,277 m), the Serles (2,717 m), the Ampferstein (2,556 m) or the Elfer (2,499 m) are the most well-known mountains in the Stubaital valley and each of them is a monument in itself. Mountain streams provide fresh water throughout the region. Mountain pastures invite you to relax in the lush green meadows. The forests provide indigenous animals with their ideal habitat.

The Stubaital natural paradise is easy to reach via the Brenner Pass, and is just a few minutes south-west of Innsbruck.

Sunny Fulpmes in the Stubaital

Right in the middle of the Stubaital you will find Fulpmes, a sun-blessed winter sports location at 1,000 m above sea level. The village of 4,000 inhabitants is, alongside Neustift, Telfes, Mieders and Schönberg, one of five villages in the Stubaital and have been connected to Innsbruck by the Stubaitalbahn railway line since 1904.

The great mountain air in Fulpmes offers you the ideal holiday climate for rest and relaxation. Snow-free hiking trails as well as perfectly prepared cross-country skiing trails throughout the Stubaital promise a great winter holiday experience. Right on our doorstep you will find the Schlick 2000 top skiing area with fantastic activities for the whole family.

Entertainment is also guaranteed around the Stubaier Hof, your hotel in the Stubaital, with a minigolf course, a horse riding ranch and the Adventurepark high rope course.

Insights into craftsmanship

Long before Fulpmen became a popular holiday destination, it was characterised by its tradition of iron processing. In the high valley of the Schlick, iron was mined and processed for hundreds of years.

Today there is forge's museum where you can get an insight into the forging art of the local people. The nativity museum displays filigree nativities from Stubai and Tyrol - right in the centre of the village.

Culture and tradition in the Stubaital

We are proud of our tradition and our cuisine in the Stubaital. We would be happy to prepare some Tyrolean specialities for you at the Stubaier Hof. The Stubaier Musikkapellen band plays in traditional outfits at various events, such as the Fulpmes bandstand in summer. They also play during the Almabtrieb festival, where the cattle are decorated before being brought back down to the valley at the end of the summer.
